The Prince of Wales took part in a polo match, which saw him raise £1 million split between 11 charities.
Prince William joined the US Polo Assn team for the Out-Sourcing Inc. Royal Charity Polo Cup at Guards Polo Club earlier this month.
Out-Sourcing Inc’s David M Matsumoto said: “Out-Sourcing Inc. focuses on creating platforms to highlight and support charitable endeavours across the world, including here in the UK.”
The money will go towards charities that are supported by The Prince and Princess of Wales’ and takes the total raised over the last 12 years from Royal Charity Polo Days to £12 million.
The US Polo Assn team, which also featured Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, Mark Tomlinson and Amr Zedan, played against the Standing Rock Polo team, featuring Philipp Mueller, Ivan Rubinich, Malcolm Borwick and Clarinda Tjia-Dharmadi.
BP Healthcare Polo team, which also took part, saw Joevy Beh, James Beh, Henry Porter and Steve Cox play.
At the end of the day, US Polo Assn took victory, with the Princess of Wales presenting the trophy to her husband’s team.
Victoria Hornby, chief executive officer of Shout / MHI, who spoke on behalf of the charities benefiting from the event, said the money raised will “ensure that we can continue to be there to offer the support [people] deserve”.
